I know it's been awhile since I last posted something but life has been a little too busy lately and I had to deal with a few meltdowns... but now I'm better and stronger and ready for the next challenge!
Dad was moved out of Suburban into a skilled nursing home yesterday. Below is the name of his new temporary home and the address.
COUNTRY VILLA BAY VISTA HCC
5901 DOWNEY AVENUE
LONG BEACH, CA 90805
Telephone: (562) 634-4693
I am so happy to report that he no longer has pneumonia, he has a voice and is not whispering (I really think this is a miracle because the Speech Therapist said that his whisper might be permanent from the ventilator and/or stroke), he can eat apple sauce, jello and passed his swallow test and will now be able to have puree food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So what this means is that he might be off the feeding tube (G tube) if he keeps up the good work.
Although he has been getting better, his mental state has defiantly been up and down (mostly down). I receive a few calls daily from nurses saying that he is requesting a priest, rabbi or any religious figures to come and pray and read to him and says that he's in a lot of pain and he's done with life and wants to die.
Dad needs support, now more than ever! Cards and visits would be very helpful and welcome.
