Today was filled with lots of fun and interesting appointments;
DMV, Social Security office and dad's old nursing home... then followed by a long visit to the hospital. Don't be jealous of my fab life.
Hahaha... NOT!
Dad is now at Lakewood Regional Medical Center again. Spoke to the doctor today and I think that they finally caught on that dad needs to stay in an
Acute Long Term Care Facility... considering the fact that he has been in and out of the hospital 3 times in the last month in a half.

I'm thrilled with him going back to an Acute Facility because the hospital takes much better care of him and pays WAY more attention to dad then the nursing home. I never thought in a million years that I would ever say this but I now enjoy and appreciate going to the hospital (over the nursing home). For those of you who do not know me... I had a HUGE fear or hospitals before all of this, so that fact that I don't mind going to them anymore is a
freakin miracle.
So here's an update on dad...
GOOD NEWS
-he is now wiggling his left toes, which is his paralyzed side
-he ate his first "whole food" meal today. No more puree or thickened juices
-back to physical therapy and speech therapy again. I think they had stopped for awhile at the nursing home because he kept having medical difficulties. The therapy at the hospital is so much more
aggressive and better too!
CHALLENGES
-he has been throwing up blood clots and think it is because he's been biting his cheek and tongue and
swallowing the blood and later throwing it up
-
prostate blockage
-Mass on this left kidney
-c0n
gestive heart failure
A HUGE thank you to all of his friends and family that have been visiting him. Both dad and I greatly appreciate your time, kindness and support.
